Prenatal Care

Early Pregnancy Through Early Labor

  • Getting To Know You Chat - 30 min

    • Call or email to schedule an initial complimentary consultation. I am available for Zoom and in-person meetings.  This is an opportunity to get to know each other and discuss your preferences for birth and expectations from my role as your doula.

  • Phone and email communication support for your pregnancy once our contract is signed.

    • Unlimited phone/text and email support throughout the pregnancy and early postpartum. No question, inquiry, or concern is insignificant. I welcome all communication as that is the best way for us to get to know each other.

    • Including 24/7 on-call care during early labor and decision-making of when to head to the hospital for your birth.

  • Resources and community referrals

    • A vast amount of holistic maternity care providers are available in our community, ranging from midwives, OBs, chiropractors, acupuncturists, to pelvic floor therapists and bodyworkers. Feel free to ask for a referral! Also, my extensive lending library will be available to you, including books and articles on health, nutrition, birth preparation, comfort measures, breastfeeding, and postpartum care.

  • Prenatal Visit @ 32 weeks - 1 hour

    • This is an opportunity to review your expectations of birth, answer any questions that you may have regarding your prenatal well-visit appointments with your Medical Care Provider, or just a nice time for us to sit together and chat.  These visits are designed to dive deep into your desires for your birth, to unpack fears, to demystify anything that may be hindering your confidence. The goal is that by the end of these sessions, you will trust in your ability to birth and make the decisions right for you and your baby and that I as your doula will have a deep understanding of how best to support you.

  • Assistance in creating a personal and customized birth preference plan.

    • Using the information from our Getting to Know You Chat and our Prenatal Visit, we will work together to talk about all of the different options for birth and which fit your vision of your labor and delivery.

    • All clients will have access to my Birth Preference templates, educational pdfs, and other important documents to aid in developing an informed plan.

      • This is a fluid plan and is best developed via email interaction.

Labor and Delivery

Early Labor Through Delivery

  • On-call 24/7

    • Two weeks before your due date, I will be on call 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Also, there will be arrangements for a backup doula, should I happen to be attending another birth.

  •  Continuous care during Labor and Delivery

    • Once in labor, whenever you voice a desire for my presence, I will arrive at your place of labor/birth. I will support you continuously throughout labor, for as long as it may take. I will draw on my knowledge, experience, and intuition to provide physical and emotional support, to hold space, to help facilitate labor progress by making suggestions for positions, movement, breathing, and relaxation. I will provide hands-on support such as massage, counter pressure, aromatherapy, and rebozo, all while ensuring that the expecting partner has the main support role, if applicable and desired. Finally, I will provide reassurance and perspective, evidence-based information regarding your current birth options, and ensure that you have all the information you need to make informed decisions about your care.

    • Every single labor and delivery is different.  Because of that, it is important for you to be reassured that you will have continuous care whether your labor is 1 hour or 45 hours long.

Postpartum Care

Post-delivery To 2 Weeks Postpartum

  • In-hospital Postpartum Care - 2 hours

    • Up to 2 hours of postpartum care at the hospital immediately after delivery to support the delivering parent and their birth team.  This includes establishing breastfeeding, providing food options for the group, and providing information about newborn tests and vaccinations.

    • I will leave once you are comfortable and need nothing else but to bond with your new family.

  • Private Postpartum Home Visit - 1 hour

    • A brief visit to your home to check in with you and your baby after birth. This is a time to make sure you have the tools you need to provide care for your newborn at home, talk about your experience with your birth, and answer any questions about your postpartum journey (breastfeeding, healing body, etc.)

  • Postpartum follow-ups via phone/text.

    • Please expect a weekly text to check in on your well-being for the first 2 weeks after delivery.

    • Referrals available for Postpartum Doulas and Lactation Assistance (IBCLC and coaching).
